I received a free copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
So I barely got through the first chapter of this book. In the first chapter we get dropped into three different POV's, have over a dozen different characters names mentioned, and jump between three different time periods. Chapter one, according to kindle location calculations, is only sixteen pages. If you think that's a lot to cram into sixteen pages, you would be right. The overall effect made the first chapter feel rushed and unfinished and in no way made me want to continue on reading. I did, out of a sense of fairness, flip through the other chapters and it would appear that this frantic pace was limited to the first chapter. But after being forced to read the first chapter multiple times to figure out what was going on, I had no desire to read further. I gave this book 1 star.
